New Flooring in Belle Harbor House

Across the Marine Parkway from Brooklyn, Belle Harbor rests comfortably on a peninsula in Queens. Water and ocean views, beaches and promenades are stunning along this 11-mile land mass which reaches only ¾ of a mile wide. It can feel like a small coastal town in light of its proximity to the Big Apple and some 8.5 million people.

Oceanfront and historical homes, attractive beachfronts, a surf club, yacht club and bistros, bars and boutiques lend an elegant flair. Of course, we think the most elegant flair one can find in a house is hardwood flooring, and one homeowner is totally on board. Here, in an attractive multi-level house, we installed new floors. All are rift sawn and quarter sawn white oak, on different levels of the home, with a herringbone pattern on the top level.

Rift and quarter sawn methods refer to a cutting technique that produces a distinct grain pattern. Both involve cutting a log into boards at a 90° angle to the growth rings. The rift boards exhibit a straight, vertical grain, and the quarter ones have visible Medullary ray patterns. The new floors artfully blend style and design with the classic warmth only natural wood can provide. Its unparalleled, durable allure transcends time in uncompromising quality and beauty.
