Engineered Wood Flooring Installation in Midtown Manhattan
We recently completed an engineered wood flooring installation in Midtown Manhattan for a high-rise apartment with a concrete subfloor.
The homeowners selected white oak engineered hardwood flooring. We installed it in a classic herringbone pattern. Herringbone flooring takes more planning and precision than a standard straight plank installation, especially when working around walls, doorways, and other details in a Manhattan apartment.
Because the existing subfloor was concrete, we installed a 5 mil rubber underlayment. Underlayment is an important part of many NYC high-rise flooring installations, providing a proper layer between the concrete subfloor and the new wood floor.
Engineered wood flooring is also a practical option for NYC apartments because it can be installed over concrete subfloors with the right installation system and preparation.
